Bandar Seri Begawan, 7 April: In an effort to further improve its export portfolio, Perodua is exporting a total of 310 units of its Myvi 1.5SE and Alza 1.5SE models to Brunei this year.
“This is a major step forward for Perodua to strengthen our brand presence in the region as we strive to become a player in ASEAN auto market in the years to come,” Perodua President and CEO, Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid Salleh said.

The Perodua Myvi and Alza were launched by Brunei Minister of Communications, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Pehin Kapitan Lela Diraja Dato Paduka Goh, Datuk (Dr) Aminar and Mr Kurinami Takamasa, Perodua Executive Director.
Brunei has a population of 417,784 according to the World Bank and a total industry volume of 14,243 vehicles for 2015.
Perodua began exporting to Brunei in 1996 with the Perodua Kancil and have exported a total of 2,300 vehicles to the Kingdom as of end 2015.
“We believe that there is demand for these models in this country as the acceptance of compact vehicles is gradually growing,” Aminar said.
Perodua exports to 5 countries, Singapore, Mauritius, Brunei, Sri Lanka and Fiji. The compact carmaker also exports the Myvi to Indonesia as the Daihatsu Sirion (under the Daihatsu badge).
